Approach

From Caseton de Andara take the track up to the rectangualr 'pond' before heading into the Lake Depression. Take the track up the spoil heaps to the south. Continue up heading towards the Long cabana and the Sara Depression.

Just after Torca Nevera, but before the long cabana take the track up to the right and back over. The entrance is on the left of the track. GPS based on Google Earth and LSD map (1981)

Entrance

Large open shaft

Description

Gigantic entrance. P15 to two ways on at bottom of shaft. Western branch leads immediately to mined out rift, lots of stemps and draft. Rift descends >20m - unexplored

Eastern route leads down steep mine gallery, to crawl and window above pitch. A traverse round the pitch head is on extremely unstable mined slope. One at a time recommended. The pitch is 10m and leads to either a climb up to further mine levels and ladders (unexplored - but probably connects with lower route) or a window into another P10. A further P10 leads to a wooden floor (with traverse line) and a P15 onto a drafught ledge. The passage continues down a large mined rift, with various stemples and ladders. It is extremely cold, draughty and loose!

The current depth is -82m. The mine levels, after the first P10, are very likely to be the Aurelia and / or Esperanza mine. The current limit is still approx 80m higher than the Mazarrasa mine levels
