Approach

The PO-1 cavity, located in the Jou de la Poza, was the first cavity located during the summer season of 2016.

Cavity cave, with a height in the mouth that exceeds 5 meters, although the width is not exceeds the meter. Located at the lowest point of the great depression that forms this jou, and at its point of maximum absorption. Formed in favor of the stratification, around it we find different conduits, also with function of sinks, but of smaller size. These pipes have been covered with stones by the shepherds of the area.

Entrance

At the entrance of the cavity we find stone walls, the first one meter high and the second that exceeds 1.80. It should be noted that in order to carry out the exploration of this cavity, the integrity of these infrastructures has been fully respected.

Description

The cavity in the beginning develops horizontally, and is formed by a gallery with a slight inclination that a few meters is crossed by another gallery of smaller dimensions. To the right, and after a few meters, the gallery narrows, this point has not yet been forced to rule out the continuation. On the left, and after a small protrusion, the cavity is deflected. In its first section and given its small size, it forces us to advance in opposition until behind a window we can see how the well widens.

Accessing the vertical secured by a pass, you descend a well of 9 meters narrow head. At the base of this well, which increases its dimensions here, it can be observed how the water in the rainy season will circulate at this point with force. The polished and black rock, and the large number of boulders, make it evident. The cavity continues through a conduit that is reduced in size due to the large accumulation of sediment, until the explorer's continuation is prevented within a few meters, reaching at this point 18 meters deep. The remarkable current of air in this point of the cavity makes us think of a possible continuation and we do not discard in future expeditions to force this step. Exploration in progress
