Approach

The cave is located in the southernmost part of Mount Obesón, and in one of the large existing depressions; its location places it within the municipal area of Peñamellera Alta.

Entrance

The OB-1 cave has two entrances, each forming a parallel shaft that joins at a depth of -10 m into a single vertical passage.

Description

The OB-1 cave has two entrances, each forming a parallel shaft that joins at a depth of -10 m into a single vertical passage. The first shaft drops directly into a sloping chamber with a 14 m vertical drop. The second shaft, in contrast, descends in a more stepped fashion, providing access to a small hanging chamber, where an impenetrable narrow passage marks its end. At the base of the two shafts, the cave forms a sloping chamber that leads to a P-6, which provides access to a larger chamber and marks the end of the cave at a depth of -27 m.

The OB-1 offers results of -27 m depth, and a development of 68 m.Exploration completed.
